Tunisian Berber

Lameen Souag of Jabal al-Lughat has turned up an interesting link about the Tunisian variety of Berber .

An outline of the Shilha (Berber) vernacular of Douiret (Southern Tunisia) is a complete Ph.D thesis online.

The Tunisian variety of Berber is very close to Tashawit. I took a quick look at the link and I believe it is worth linking. So check it out, have a quick read and see if you can recognize any words. See especially Appendices where you will find stories, proverbs, riddles and vocabulary.

Happy reading!
