Anezyum vs anezgum
Metta hallem/t,
Some shawi speakers tend to pronounce the letter G as Y. Take the word anezgum for example. Some shawi communities use ANEZYUM ; others use ANEZGUM. Other examples : agujil/ayujil, agzine/ayzine , uguir/uyir ...etc. What makes it more interesting is the fact that the switch happens within a few kilometres. How do you explain this phenomenon? Any ideas?
AMAWAL
- anezgum : trouble
- agujil : orphan
- agzine : puppy
- uguir : go
