Taqsabt : hypnotic sounds of Aures

M on cour s'est ouvert à la vie
Mon corps veut danser

Je me distille
-Radhia Toumi

I love all kinds of music, but nothing affects me the way haqsabt, the shawi flute does. It goes straight to the heart. It has a soulful, haunting sound that penetrates and permeates the world around it. When I'm listening to haqsabt, nothing else matters.

Let Said of Aith Racheche take you to id'urar nnegh, our mountains, the heart and soul of Algeria. Listen and surrender to the hypnotic sounds of Aures.

Ilamuchiyen, the Nemamchas are one of the largest shawi communities. The reside in the areas of Tebessa, Khenchela and Biskra. Their rugged terrain was a scene for some of famous battles of the Algerian Revolution.

Ilamuchiyen are known for their beautiful rugs, traditional music and their Tashawit is very rich.
